Our annual All Souls memorial service is next Sunday 5 November at 3.30pm in St Mary’s.

We welcome anyone who wishes to remember someone precious to them and invite you to come and participate in the service. If you would like a name to be remembered in prayer, please either add the name to the sheet in church or email office@shadforthchurch.org.uk

Soon to play at the Manchester International Jazz Festival,( July 31st), Emma and James will make a return visit to our church by popular demand. Tickets will be available soon. Watch out for further details on our Facebook Page soon.

This day will feature a Roman re-enactment group, displays of coins and artefacts from all ages and Michael Richardson, our local historian, will be displaying local history photographs. Hopefully, there will be a chance of Metal Detecting on land close to the church (permission is being sort). Light refreshments and a raffle will be available. Admission is free.

This is to be a FUN night with pencil and paper quizzes, 4 suits bingo, small prizes and a raffle. The cost is £5 to include a pie and peas supper with vegetarian option but FREE for under 12’s. It is suitable for individuals and small teams. Ring 01429 823400 or 0191 3720457 for tickets.

Join us at St Cuthbert’s for our annual snowdrop day. Come and walk around our grounds and see the snowdrops as we move into spring, This has become a popular annual event but is reliant upon favourable weather conditions. Refreshments and a bric-a-brac sale will be available. Bring a camera and wear suitable shoes or boots.

Join us at St Cuthbert’s for an evening of hymns with the Salvation Army Brass Band. We will be singing some of your favourite hymns accompanied by the wonderful music of the band. The Songs of Praise is free to attend and we are delighted to be joined by one of the Bishops from the Talking Jesus Bishops in Mission event happening from 2-5 March. Our annual All Souls Memorial Services will happen this year on Sunday 6 November:  3.30pm in St Mary’s & 6pm in St Giles’. We invite all the families of those for whom we have conducted funerals this year and we remember them in prayer first. But if you would like to come and remember someone precious to you, then you are of course most welcome too. Sign up lists go up in church from 16 October (or do send a message to one of the clergy). As always if you are unable to attend because of ill health or you are away, please add names. Otherwise if you are including names on the list to be remembered in prayer, we trust that you will be able to join us for the service.
